WEST VILLAGE (IF ONLY)
The Fabulous charm of one of New Yorker's favourite neighbourhoods.
(And my favourite neighbourhood in the universe... if I could close my eyes and live anywhere in the world, I would live here!)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
We experienced our first Halloween in the states last year. It was the most exciting experience, deciding on a costume, finding items for said costume, putting the costume together, drinking, dancing, and admiring other people's creativity in their costumes. (I think my favourite was a Wheel-Of-Fortune man & woman, he was the host, she was the pretty lady plus the actual wheel. And everyone got a spin. I know that doesn't sound appropriate, but everyone did spin her wheel, it happened!)
I think it was half way during the night that Simon and I decided we had to continue this tradition. It was one of those moments where we turned to each; silenced; and just said "we HAVE to have a party next year, and the next, and the next!". And this we did! We hosted our first (of hopefully many!) Halloween party last weekend. It was also meant to be a Housewarming party too, but a week before we found out our rental lease isn't being renewed and we are house hunting again. Long story! Anyway we had the best time, and were so impressed by everyone's efforts with costumes - especially because Halloween isn't that huge in Australia, it's just a gimic really, another excuse for a party. Haha well I guess that's what is to our America friends too!
I decided months ago I would be a POP ART character - one of my favourite forms of art in this world! Two hours later with the end of a paint brush, red face paint, black eyeliner, and some props... my character was born. I spent most of the night posing like this: (below): staying true to character! Even after a bowl of punch & several beers later - dedication!
